They offer 42 ADU and single-family models, with floor plans ranging from 481 square feet to 2,469 square feet. In terms of style, Affinity Building Systems’ homes largely feature traditional home designs. Most of their pre-designed homes are capes or colonials and many of which have covered porches. All models and plans are customizable. As Affinity Building Systems largely operates in the Southeastern U.S., their homes are built to handle extreme weather particularly hurricanes. Their homes are engineered to withstand winds up to 180 mph.
Affinity’s homes can be built on a variety of foundations, including crawlspaces, pilings, and stilts. Once the design and permits are finalized, the foundation is built while the home modules go into factory production. The modules can be finished in under 4 weeks. The modules are then shipped to the build site and set on its foundation with a crane, usually in just 1 day. A local contractor then handles on-site work like electrical, plumbing, and heating connections. On-site work also includes siding, decking, patio work, and minor interior carpentry. It is worth noting that while Affinity handles all permitting, manufacturing, and design, on-site work must be done by a private contractor. Buyers are paired with local independent builders from Affinity’s network. Currently, Affinity only offers homes to buyers located in the US Southeast.
