Blu Homes is a designer and manufacturer of prefab homes based in Vallejo, California. They offer 4 styles of single-family homes and ADUs, with pre-designed floor plans ranging from 605 square feet to 2,140 square feet. In terms of style, their homes have a sleek modern look, with tall windows, sliding glass doors, steel framing, open floor plans, and flat or butterfly roof options. Select customization options are available, including solar paneling, garages, junior ADUs, and a sliding glass, “Nanawall”. Home models can be added together for greater space and flexibility. Blu Homes is an environmentally friendly company and offers homes that can exceed strict green home regulations and energy ratings. ADUs and homes from Blu Homes consume 50% less electricity and 50% less water compared to standard, site-built homes. Dvele, a San Diego-based housing tech company, acquired Blu Homes in the Spring of 2020. Dvele plans to continue the Blu Home brand.
Homes are built in an off-site factory and can be completed in less than 2 months and are delivered with appliances, LED lighting, tile, cabinets, countertops, interior paint, and HVAC already installed. After permits are approved and manufacturing begins, homes can be built, delivered, and move-in ready in under 3 months. Buyers get a 10 year structural warranty, a 2 year systems warranty, and a 1 year workmanship warranty in case anything goes wrong. It is worth noting that while Blu Homes handles all design, delivery, and foundation setting, buyers must work with a third party contractor to prepare the site for the home. While Blu Homes has worked on projects in over 31 states, they currently only serve buyers in Northern California.
